What Is the Process for Getting a Loaner Laptop?

Loaner Laptop Application

A current student  will need to submit an application. Applications are submitted through the Loaner Laptop Request Form and approved on a first come, first serve basis, as long as devices are available.

The application period opens after registration begins and will remain open for the first 8 weeks of each fall/spring semester and for the first 6 weeks of the start of the summer semester.

If approved, students will be emailed a link to schedule their pickup. They must pickup the laptop at Allegheny Campus, Library Building, Room L104. At the time of pickup, they will  sign the agreement and then check out their laptop.

What if the Loaner Laptop Breaks or Has a Problem?

If the laptop has a problem, the student will need to contact the ITS ServiceDesk. The ServiceDesk will work with them to troubleshoot or schedule a time to work with them. . The laptop will need to be brought to Allegheny Campus for repairs. The laptop will be unavailable for a period of time while repairs are completed. During the repair period, an additional laptop will not be provided. However, students are encouraged to utilize the various other resources available on campus.

Renewing the Loaner Laptop Agreement

Students must renew the laptop agreement at the end of the semester to ensure they can have a laptop for the following semester. If students do not renew or return their laptop, they will be charged for the laptop.
