When to use the Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) option

For employees who originate mass emails to a large group of users, it is recommended to use the blind copy function (BCC) for those groups to avoid the option of “Reply All” by others.

When to use the Reply All response

There are appropriate times for sending mass emails to the college community, a campus or group. In these instances, if you need to reply to a mass email, please be conscientious about your response. 

In many instances a “Reply” (only to sender) is appropriate as opposed to “Reply All”. Please make the determination conscientiously.

Employees have consistently complained that they are disrupted and disturbed by employees who automatically respond with “Reply All” inappropriately to mass emails. Many employees do this inadvertently, which is why employees must be cognizant about this action.
