Power  

Turning the Desktop Computer On

  1. On the back of the computer monitor, will be the computer
  1. Press the button on the top of the computer, this is the power button
  1. The power button will turn white when powered on
 
 

Turning the Computer Monitor On

  1. Locate the bottom right of the computer monitor
  2. Press the button on the far right
  3. The power button will turn white when powered on
 
 

Turning the System On with the Touch Panel

Note

This will turn the room system on, including the monitor in the lab, the microphone, and the camera. You will still need to power on the PC and monitor if using the room PC.

 
  1. If the touch panel screen is black (sleeping), press the screen to wake
  1. Select Start
 
 

Turning the System Off

Note

In addition to powering the system off, you must log out of your profile on the PC. The touch panel does not power the PC on or off.

 
  1. Press the Power button on the touch panel
  1. Confirm that you would like to shut the system down by pressing Power Down
 
 
 
 

Video

Displaying the PC

  1. On the touch panel, select the PC input
  1. The Instructor's computer screen will now be projected on the monitor in the simulation lab
 
 

Displaying the Patient Monitor

  1. After turning the system on, the Patient Monitor will display on the simulation lab monitor by default, but you can also select the Patient Monitor button
 
 

Using PIP with the PC and Patient Monitor

The PIP Layout options on the touch panel will allow you to display both the PC and the Patient Monitor on the monitor in the simulation lab.

 
  1. Select On
  1. Select a layout option by touching the various views
 
 

Recording To Panopto

Info

Since the Panopto recordings for the Simulation Lab are not being shared with Blackboard, it is suggested that you choose your My Folder from the folder dropdown after launching the Panopto app on the PC. 

 
 
 

Hiding/Display Mute using the Touch Panel

Note

The Mute Displays button will allow you to make the monitor go black. This will hide any content from the class on the monitor in the simulation lab area.

 
  1. Press Mute Display to mute the simulation lab monitor
  1. Press Display Muted to send content back to the simulation lab monitor
 
 
 
 

Audio

Ceiling Mic

N1144 Simulation Lab has a ceiling-mounted microphone above the monitor in the lab which will record audio within the space when used with Panopto to capture the simulations.

 
 

Volume Controls

  • To adjust the volume from the Simulation Control Center, press the + (increase volume) or - (decrease volume) icons on the touch panel 
  • To Mute audio, press Mute Audio
  • To unmute the room audio, press Audio Muted
 
 

Classroom Phone

Internal Phone Calls Only

  • Your Classroom Number and Extension
  • Campus Security Button - Calls your Campus' Security
  • ServiceDesk Button - Calls the ITS ServiceDesk
  • Do not Disturb Button - Mutes the Phone Ringer
